Root Canal Retreatment
While not typical, sometimes a root canal will become reinfected and your endodontist will need to perform endodontic retreatment on that tooth. Your endodontist will start with re-opening the tooth through the crown and removing any diseased pulp present in your canals. Once your canals are cleaned and shaped the endodontist will reseal your tooth’s canals with new filling and temporarily seal the top of your tooth. Please follow up with your general dentist for your restorative care once your tooth has healed.
